Montessori 101- Part 1: Who was Maria Montessori & The Montessori Method

There are many Montessori courses out there for you to explore so what makes me different?

I will be sharing my insight knowledge as a classroom teacher for 11 years. My educational journey has led me to teach in different educational environments such as public, charter, private, co-laboratory, Afrikan-based, homeschool and unschooling while using traditional, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori philosophies. While teaching this course, I will be bringing in the lenses of child development, conscious parenting, deschooling/decentering school, and Black critical thought.

Montessori is a holistic educational practice. It is about transforming the adult to truly see and allow for the fullness of children.

This is the first course out of a 7 part series of starting your Montessori Journey. It is important to start with the foundation to see if this educational ideology aligns with your beliefs.

Each course will be self-guided. I will be adding additional writings to include an assortment of voices from the global majority to enrich our learnings about Montessori. You will get notifications when you follow me on Gumroad.
